Madea leaves WeHo. Tyler Perry sells home here

January 28, 2013

The one man film industry named Tyler Perry, of Madea fame, has pulled up stakes from his aerie above West Hollywood and sold his multi-million dollar home – for a healthy profit.

The house in the Hills Tyler Perry just sold has a window looking into the pool – from the pool room.

The director, actor, producer and writer has sold his home in the Hollywood Hills above Sunset Plaza Drive for $11.25 million dollars, according to the LA Times.

The house sits atop a ridge at 1654 Blue Jay Way.

Mr. Perry purchased the four-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion in 2006 for $9.6 million – the 9,725 square foot home also includes a gym, a sauna and a nightclub lounge complete with bar and disco ball.

The glass-floor catwalk inside the home is also the ceiling of the wine cellar.

A window in the billiards room looks straight into the swimming pool, not unlike an aquarium’s view.

The star has had some trouble selling the house.

The house has been for sale for nearly three years, with the original asking price set at $13.25 million.

To whet appetites for the home, a web site was created to show it off – see that site here.

Mr. Perry still owns an Atlanta home; his fortune is estimated to be around $400 million.
