Every Wednesday  - Toddler Storytime at 11:15 a.m. Toddler storytime is designed for children aged 2 to 4. Reading readiness and listening skills are enhanced through a variety of books, fingerplays, songs, and an art activity. Each session runs between 20-30 minutes.

Life History Writing Class at 2 p.m. Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles sponsors a life history writing class for adults.  Published writer Bea Mitz facilitates the class in the West Hollywood Room.

Family Storytime at 3:30 p.m. Family Storytime builds children’s language skills by involving the entire family with interactive stories, rhymes and songs.  Parents, caregivers and younger children (ages 3-6) are encouraged to attend.

Every SaturdayBookPALS at 11 a.m. Come to the West Hollywood Library for the BookPals family storytime. Members of the Screen Actors Guild read stories to children and their families.

First Tuesday of Every MonthWomen’s Advisory Board Book Club, “Women and Books”at 7 p.m in the Community Meeting Room. This book club for women highlights books written by women. This month’s title is Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O’Neill.

Last Tuesday of Every MonthLambda Lit Book Club at 7 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room. This book club highlights a heady mix of LGBT classics, unheralded gems, and buzz-worthy new releases. This month’s title is Eminent Outlaws by Christopher Bram.

Second Wednesday of Every MonthThe SHE – WeHo Lesbians’ Discussion Group meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at West Hollywood Library. Tuesday, October 2WHAP! West Hollywood/Cal Arts Lecture Series Screening:  Simondon of the Desert.   Celebrate the birthday of French philosopher of technology Gilbert Simondon (b. October 2nd, 1924) with the US premiere of François Lagarde’s documentary film Simondon of the Desert followed by a Q&A  with the film director, François Lagarde, and specialists of Simondon’s work including: Pascal Chabot, a teacher at the Institut des Hautes Etudes en Communications Sociales (IHECS), Brussels. Admission is free.  Seating is limited and available on a first come first serve basis.  West Hollywood Council Chambers  625 N. San Vicente Boulevard 6:30 – 9 p.m   

Fridays, October 5/ October 12/ October 26– ThisIntroduction to Computers class will assist you in acquiring the practical skills needed to use a computer.  Reservations are made per session by signing up at the 2nd floor information desk. 10-11 a.m.

Saturday, October 6 - Well-known for his acting credits in film and television, including Groundhog Day, Deadwood, Glee, and Californication among others, Stephen Tobolowsky will discuss his new book The Dangerous Animal Club. A book signing will follow the author talk that will take place in the library's community meeting room.  Parking validation will be provided.  2-3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, October 16California Reads Program: American Indians and the U.S. Constitution – Presentation by Professor Troy Johnson, Chair of American Indian Studies, California State University, Long Beach, covering the historical background and issues regarding the influence and status of American Indians incorporated into the U.S. Constitution.  Free copies of the The Penguin Guide to the U.S. Constitution by Professor Richard Beeman will be available at the library's reference desk before the presentation for those who plan to attend.

Wednesday, October 17– Join us for the Wacko Show! Children of all ages and their families are invited to attend an amazing and funny magic show performed by Wacko the magician.  From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room

Wednesday October 17 - Human Rights Speaker Series: How Disaster Relief Protects Human Rights – Responding to Wars, Earthquakes and Other Global Disasters.
