"Big Queer Convo" Cultures in Collission: Islam & Homosexuality

Gay & Lesbian Center's Cultural Arts & Education Department, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles, presents Cultures in Collission: Islam & Homosexuality, a free public discussion that will feature Ani Zonneveld and Ipek Ipekcioglu talking about the often denied presence of homosexuality in Islam, from both a U.S.-based and worldwide perspective. The event will also include a live musical performance by Zonneveld, and Ipekcioglu will DJ during the post-event reception. The event is free. The Tom Finland Foundation and the City of West Hollywood presents the 17th Annual Erotic Art Fair Weekend. The event features 50 artists from around the globe and they will be presenting a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and digital work celebrating the LGBT experience. The City of West Hollywood and the Frostig Collection presents FROSTIG AT LARGE, a special outdoor sculpture exhibition located on the grassy median of Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and Almont Drive. The exhibition features seven sculptures by world-renowned artists such as Lita Albuquerque, Charles Arnoldi, Brad Howe, David Buckingham, Michael Kalish, and Guy Dill. The opening reception will feature refreshments, live music, and is open to the public. The event will coincide with the celebration of ARTmaggedon Los Angeles. This year's Book Fair will feature 13 stages with hundreds of acclaimed authors and artists, 100 exhibitors, live performances, culinary demonstrations, children's theater programming, and workshops across a broad spectrum of works.
