Re: A short history of WeHo and WeHo News is seven years old today
Great story on the history of West Hollywood (part one). Can't wait for the next two chapters. Trust you'll not forget to give a LARGE mention to attorney SHELDON ANDELSON (now deceased) who was the original sparkplug behind the founding of West Hollywood and its incorporation.
He lit all the fires, organized, had meeting after meeting, used his vast resources and wealth to pull strings and turn heads and, eventually, MADE IT HAPPEN.
Looking forward to the rest of our WeHo history.
On the occasion 0f your seventh birthday:
To Ryan and the entire WeHo News staff - CELEBRATE! CELEBREATE! CELEBRARE!
You deserve every accolade possible.

Re: WeHo News is seven years old today
That the WeHo News has stood the test of time (and the whisper campaigns by those whose escapades and ugly behavior you have exposed - yes Land, Heilman and Horvath - I mean you) is a great achievement – congratulations on your seventh birthday and the beginning of your eighth year of publication.
I receive your E mail blast and read with anticipation the paper as soon as it comes into my account. I read it all over the world as I travel on business and proudly show it off to my business acquaintances in other cities and countries. They are universally “wowed” by the look, the graphics, the images and, when they get a chance to read it, the superior quality of the reporting.
Not a one of the people I show it to can show me anything remotely like it – and that makes it the perfect newspaper for West Hollywood, a city like no other.
Thanks for creating it and for keeping it going.

Gabor Frank, West Hollywood
Re: WeHo News is seven years old today
Excellent coverage of our community, the life and happenings in our own backyard. I read it while I'm home and away. Thanks for the invaluable flow of info.

Congratulations. It's quite an impressive accomplishment. Keep it up. Happy birthday & many more.

Re: LA County Fair
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA) condemns the “The Lobster Claw” game at the Los Angeles County Fair and urges the Los Angeles County Fair Association to remove the cruel game that encourages people to claw and trap their lobster before it is cooked.
An exhibit like this conveys a message to adults and children alike that it is okay to torment food animals before they are eaten, and, in fact, that it is okay to torment animals for amusement and entertainment. Tolerating and participating in ‘casual cruelty’ and behavior that desensitizes us all to the plight of other living things is the fastest way to kill our sense of compassion and empathy.
In 2008, a similar game appeared in a local restaurant but was removed after public outcry.
spcaLA encourages LA County Fair visitors to not patronize this vendor as well as call upon the LA County Fair Association to intervene.
