Rebel Wilson’s “creepy” neighbor surfaces…
And she has some interesting corrections to make about the actress’s accusations made on the "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" show.
When we wrote about Rebel Wilson’s complaint about her “anonymous” neighbor’s “genuinely creepy” note saying she was noisy and wanted her to stop singing show tunes, we had, of course, only Ms. Wilson’s point of view.
We took Ms. Wilson’s word for that fact, characterizing the neighbor as “ugly,” not to mention lacking their “man pants.”
Well, we were sorely mistaken.
The neighbor about whom Ms. Wilson complained came forward to name herself after our article went up.
It turns out that the neighbor, Ann Charlotte de Berlaymont, DID provide her name to Ms. Wilson, although not on the note itself.
It went onto the envelope the note came in.
In addition, says Ms. Berlaymont, she personally confronted Ms. Wilson on another occasion.
Ms. Berlaymont, who is a United Nations attaché and chose West Hollywood over every other city in the country to live (as an attaché she travels frequently, not only to New York but also to Geneva, Switzerland and other international locales), calls herself “a French tough girl” who told Ms. Wilson “directly and personally how I feel about people like her and her bunch of noisy, drunk friends.”
According to the WeHo French tough girl, Ms. Wilson has exhibited a pattern of partying behavior that has led to a deterioration in the neighborhood’s quality of life.
“Would you enjoy such noisy drunk people yelling almost every night until 2, 3, 4 am close to you? Dirt all around the house [in view of] your windows? A lot of stinking bottles of beer?” she asked.
Ms. Berlaymont went further with her critique, suggesting the Ms. Wilson sought cheap publicity for her new film with the appearance on Conan O’Brien’s TV show.
“I bet Ms. Wilson, the so-called actress, is seeking some media public glorious attention,” she asserted.
Ms. Wilson could not be reached for comment, but Ms. Berlaymont waxed rhapsodic about her other neighbors and the folks she has come to know in West Hollywood.
“I am living in WeHo I love [it] so much, people around are nice, polite,” she told WeHo News.
But living behind and above a nuisance with access to the national media, while noisome to her, does not intimidate her.
“Next time I will call the police,” she assured.
In the interest of full disclosure, Ms. Berlaymont penned an item we carried in 2009 called A WeHo Urban Legend that she submitted to honor the memory of her dear departed sister, who also resided in West Hollywood.
