West Hollywood adores dogs, and someone told AT&T that, so to mark the Grand Opening of their new West Hollywood store, they are throwing a POOCH PARADE and contest.
A doggie drag parade (POOCH PARADE) will be held on Saturday.
Actually, they are giving one of the city’s most beloved non-profits, PAWS/LA, a check for $10,000 and $5,000 to the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and just thought that dogs in drag at the same time would attract more interest than handing someone a check.
Additionally, AT&T will donate $5 to PAWS/LA with purchase of any 4G LTE smartphone.*
But boy howdy are they making it worth your while to put your puppy in pumps.
The best dressed pooches, as judged by actors from Days of our Lives Freddie Smith (aka: Sonny Kiriakis, Days’ first gay character) and Kate Mansi ( Abby Deveraux on Days), will receive HTC Jetstream Tablets courtesy of AT&T.
Mayor John Duran will officiate and adjudicate the occasion.
WeHo residents with dogs in costume are encouraged to come 30 minutes early.
All entrants will receive a gifts including doggie and human t-shirts (specially branded, we’ll bet).
Anyway – show your support for a new business in town that shows generosity for their neighbors by funding two of our favorite non-profits.
The Gay Men’s Chorus Los Angeles (GMCLA) sings for a future free from homophobia and all other discrimination.
PAWS/LA is dedicated to preserving the loving bond between people and their companion animals.
To that end, they provide services to assist low-income seniors and people disabled by a life-threatening illness keep and care for their animal companions.
