West Hollywood, California (November 16, 2009) – With the economic downturn continuing to affect millions of Angelenos, The Saban Free Clinic is making a special countywide appeal for support for the 20th Annual Patient Holiday Party, set for Tuesday, December 15 in Hollywood.

The Clinic’s Patient Holiday Party is an event that brings hundreds of patients of The Saban Free Clinic out to receive a hot meal, new and gently used clothing, toiletries, toys, books and other gifts.
Last year a record-setting 465 men, women and children attended the Patient Holiday Party.
This year, the Clinic is preparing to serve even more patients and their families, but an energetic response from the community is required in order for the event to succeed.
“We are turning to the community to help us provide our patients with necessities to offer relief in these difficult times,” said Friends of The Saban Free Clinic Board member Marcia Steere, who has been involved with the holiday party since its inception in 1989.
“We ask everyone to consider supporting the Patient Holiday Party in some way. Working together, we can lift the spirits of so many people in need.”

They include donating items from our wish list, organizing holiday collection drives in neighborhoods, workplaces and schools, donating cash, asking businesses to get involved, and helping to promote our community appeal on Facebook and Twitter.
“It is so moving to place gifts in our patients’ hands and seeing expressions of gratitude on their faces,” said Lenna Vanerian, Special Events Manager. “For many of our patients these are the only holiday gifts they receive all season. We know that the need for assistance is greater than ever before, and we want to make the 20th Patient Holiday Party our most rewarding yet.”
