The Carnaval March will be led from Doheny along Santa Monica Boulevard by members of the West Hollywood city council at 6 pm Saturday, October 31, 2009, joined by colorful cast of characters including Vaude & The Villians, a 1930s style performance group with eighteen musicians and dancers; Silk Sisters, aerial acrobatic duo; Lux Lacroix, burlesque performer; Christopher Wonder, magician; as well as fire eaters, body balancers and contortionists.
Then the party gets going.
WeHo’s heart, otherwise known as Boystown, will once again pulse with excitement on Halloween night as hundreds of thousands of Halloween revelers are expected to flock to the famous Boulevard.
This year's new Halloween theme is based on a 19th century traveling carnival with a variety of talented stage performers on three outdoor stages throughout the night.
Once again, the quest for the most creative, outrageous and original Halloween costumes in Southern California will take place as a team of "secret" Halloween judges will walk up and down Santa Monica Boulevard beginning at 6, handing out wristbands that qualify contestants for the Costume Contest finals at 9:40 on the "Arcade Stage" located on the corner of San Vicente Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard.
