West Hollywood, California (Monday, October 26, 2009) - On Thursday, October 29, 2009, PAWS/LA (Pets Are Wonderful Support/Los Angeles) will celebrate 20 years of keeping people and pets together with a gala dinner event to be held at the Avalon Hollywood. This very special evening will feature Lily Tomlin — Emmy-award winning comedienne and star of television, theater, and film — in an “up close and personal” conversation with the audience.
Ms. Tomlin will be joined by her Desperate Housewives “sister”, Emmy-winner, Kathryn Joosten, in what promises to be a lively, intimate evening.
This special evening will be co-hosted by renown comediennes, Wendy Liebman and Merrill Markoe, who will share emcee duties as well as perform special material.
In addition to the comic relief, PAWS/LA will honor selected individuals for their commitment and dedication to the agency’s mission.
Honorees will include, Elizabeth Taylor and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation; Paul Jolly and the PetCo Foundation, and PAWS/LA Founder, Nadia Sutton.

Proceeds from the event will support programs of PAWS/LA — a non-profit agency dedicated to preserving the human-animal bond by assisting low-income seniors and people debilitated by life-threatening illness keep and care for the animal companions.
PAWS/LA serves eligible individuals and their pets throughout Los Angeles County.
